The 45thHanshan Temple New Year Bell Ringing Festivalwill be held on New Year's Eve both offline and online.
Abbot Qiushuang of the Hanshan Temple will strike the bell 108 times, with the final bell rung at midnight. The ceremony will be included in the New Year activities in other places such asHong Kong SAR, Taiwan province, Japan and South Korea.

In addition to the bell ringing, there will be various activities on-site, including a fair, a reenactment of the scene in Zhang Ji's famous poem "Mooring by Maple Bridge at Night," an acrobatic show, experiences of Taohuawu woodcut New Year prints and paper cutting, a lantern riddle corridor, traditional singing and dancing, and Jiangnan sizhu (traditional stringed and woodwind instruments) performances.
