East China’s Jiangsu province has revved up wheat harvest and purchase by taking advantage of the recent spell of fine weather and giving full play to the installation of intelligent farming machines.
In order to ensure refined management of wheat cultivation, the Agricultural Park in Xinghua County has cooperated with Nanjing Agricultural University to install a smart agricultural system.
The intelligent system can collect and analyze more than 11 technical indicators such as the growth status of seedlings, air temperature and humidity through the Internet of Things monitoring equipment fitted throughout the fields so as to provide the best program for technical guidance.
The intelligent grain production has saved planting costs on fertilizers and manual monitoring and increased crop yields.
Agricultural production bases equipped with Internet of Things facilities can assure scientific management. With the integration of drones and satellite images, the intelligent agricultural system integrating air and ground equipment can also provide guidance for grain production in the county and even the entire province.

Jiang Jie, Data Analyst, Nanjing Agricultural University：“Regional agricultural production shares much in common，such as in variety, growth environment and management methods，so the crop growth diagnosis report formed by the data obtained through a single point of agricultural Internet of Things system can be extended to the production management of other main varieties in a certain area，so as to maximize the effectiveness of intelligent management.”
As of June 2, 7.81 million mu of wheat had been harvested across the province, accounting for 22% of the provincial total. 70% and 40% of the wheat in southern and central regions had been harvested due to the intelligent management.
