A symposium was held Last Friday in Huai’an city to commemorate the 120th anniversary of the birth of Comrade Zhou Enlai. Zhou Enlai and the Great Rejuvenation of the Chinese Nation, as the symposium is called, is co-hosted by the Central Party History and Literature Research Institute's Second Research Department, the Publicity Department of the Jiangsu Provincial Party Committee, the Provincial Party Committee History Office, and the Huai'an Municipal Party Committee.
Wang Yanwen, member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, head of the Publicity Department and United Front Work Department, pointed out that Comrade Zhou Enlai had established outstanding merits and demonstrated a noble style in the glorious life of working for the happiness of the Chinese people, the rejuvenation of the Chinese nation, and the struggle for the progress of mankind.
Although Comrade Zhou Enlai has left us for more than 40 years, the cadres and the people in Jiangsu have always kept in mind his entrustment and worked hard under the inspiration and encouragement of his great spirit and lofty style to continuously write a new chapter in socialist construction, reform, and development.
Earlier this month, in a symposium held by the Communist Party of China Central Committee to commemorate the 120th birthday of late Premier Zhou Enlai, President Xi Jinping, also general secretary of the CPC Central Committee and chairman of the Central Military Commission, called on Party members to learn from Zhou and strive to realize the great ideal of Communism while delivering a speech at the symposium.
Referring to Zhou as a loyal Party member who maintained the overall situation, Xi urged Party members to strictly observe political discipline and rules, maintain Party solidarity and unity, closely follow the CPC Central Committee in terms of thinking, political orientation, and actions, and follow the Party's political line.
