The Suzhou National Orchestra was unveiled Sunday amid an opening performance with a view to inheriting and carrying forward the excellent Chinese traditional culture and creating a national music brand.
The Suzhou National Orchestra aims to inherit folk music classics, promote the innovation of folk music through the performance of a batch of Chinese folk music classics and outstanding folk musical pieces native to Suzhou in a bid to create China's national musical brand with Suzhou quality and Jiangnan style. The orchestra now has more than 90 performers, composed of renowned musicians at home and abroad.
According to the plan, the orchestra’s 2018 music season will arrange for more than 60 performances to be staged for the public to dedicate a sumptuous national music feast. At the same time, it will also actively perform public welfare functions by carrying out all kinds of cultural public good activities and national music popularization projects.
