The Suzhou Air Cargo Center of the Yangtze River Delta International Airport, jointly built by Suzhou Port and Shipping Group and Shanghai Airport Group, was unveiled Wednesday in the Comprehensive Bonded Zone of Suzhou Industrial Park.
Suzhou Air Cargo Center has completed the opening of its first cargo shipment. A total of 13 orders of over 5 tons of cold chain drugs and clothing products from enterprises in Suzhou and the nearby regions were shipped to Shanghai Pudong Airport after completing procedures such as tallying, document preparation, and pre-security checks at the freight center. These goods will be loaded onto the previous early morning flight to Hong Kong and the United States, saving more than 6 hours of overall time compared to conventional modes.
“The products shipped today are anti-cancer products destined for Hong Kong, and the fastest delivery is likely to be in about a day. For our biological products, this time is very precious to us, as it can ensure the quality of the products,” said Yu Jianying, Logistics Manager of Suzhou Xinda Biopharmaceutical Group.
The Suzhou Air Cargo Center at the Yangtze River Delta International Airport is the first off-site cargo station to achieve pre-security checks between Suzhou and Shanghai. In the future, air cargo can be collected, sorted, pre-checked, and cleared at Suzhou Air Cargo Center, providing more efficient and convenient air cargo services for enterprises in Suzhou and the Yangtze River Delta.
