86 years ago, several international friends shone a light of humanity in the darkest hours of Nanjing. Among them was an American named Richard Brady, a doctor who had worked in Nanjing for over a decade. After the Nanjing Massacre, he assisted refugees at Nanjing Drum Tower Hospital. His descendants, spanning four generations, have consistently embodied the principles of peace through their actions. In the hearts of these four generations, a special flag continues to "fly." Prior to the National Memorial Day for Nanjing Massacre Victims, Richard Brady's great-granddaughter, Carly Brady, came to China to share the story behind this flag with us.
