Memorial ceremonies were held for the vicitims of the Nanjing Massacre around the world to mourn the 300,000 victims of the Nanjing Massacre committed by the invading Japanese troops in December 1937.

At 10 o'clock on Wednesday morning, more than 120 representatives of teachers and students from universities in Beijing, as well as representatives of cadres and staff of the Anti-Japanese War Museum, solemnly gathered at the the Memorial Hall of the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression to observe a deep moment of silence.

At the Shanghai Museum of Battle of Songhu against Japanese Aggression, students recited "In the Name of Faith, Written for the Future You", which is not only a consolation to the deceased, but also a demonstration of the mission and responsibility of contemporary young people.

The Shenyang "September 18th" History Museum held a photo exhibition commemorating the 86th anniversary of the deaths of compatriots who were killed in the Nanjing Massacre. The volunteers also performed anti-Japanese war sitcoms, allowing the seeds of patriotism to be deeply rooted in their souls.

“After reading this history, my tears are about to fall. Our lives are hard won, and I hope the next generation will double their efforts to contribute to the country”, said Pei Zhixing, Citizen of Jixi City, Heilongjiang Province.

“We aim to allow more audiences, especially young friends, to understand this part of history, remember it, enhance patriotism, and continuously strive for a new journey”, said Lai Shengliang, Deputy Director of the Memorial Hall of the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression said.

“Iris Chang, with a pair of weak shoulders, shouldered the heavy burden of alerting the world. We must remember history and never forget national shame”, said Feng Jie, Young Party Member in Huai'an City.

“We receive patriotic education at the New Fourth Army Memorial Hall, never forget our original mission, continue to move forward, and serve the people wholeheartedly”, said Li Zeqian, Fire Rescue Brigade of Yancheng City.

The history of the Nanjing Massacre is not only a pain for the Chinese nation, but also a common memory for all humanity. On December 10th, overseas Chinese from all walks of life in the San Francisco Bay Area of California, USA, held a memorial ceremony to mourn the deceased compatriots and call on the world to remember history and cherish peace.

“Each and every one of us must make a little effort in order to pass on this message of peace”, said Zhang Lanzhen, Chairman of Nanjing Massacre Compensation Claims Alliance.

“I hope that the younger generation can better uphold their confidence in calling for peace through understanding history, and also hope that people from all over the world will always have friendly coexistence and exchanges”, said Wu Wei, Resident of San Francisco.
