On Wednesday evening, nearly 200 people from all walks of society attended the candlelight ceremony at the Memorial Hall for the Victims of the Nanjing Massacre by the Japanese Invaders, including descendants of Nanjing Massacre survivors, representatives of medical staff, students, and international peace activists.

As night fell, 3000 candles were lit up one by one, and the special number "12-13" was particularly solemn and dignified in the candlelight. The white candles on both sides of the altar formed a zijin flower pattern, and the stone road was covered with white candles, together forming the Chinese character "Ping" which stands for for peace. These faint lights converge together, representing our memory of the painful history of 86 years ago, and also our yearning for a peaceful and beautiful life in the future.

The members of the Purple Golden Grass Choir sang the Chorus for Nanjing Refugees, warning future generations to remember history and not forget national shame. Japanese friend Takako Daimon, alongside with Frederick Magee, the grandson of John Magee, shared their insights on peace, expressing their remembrance for the deceased, wishing the survivors good health and longevity, and calling for the cherish of lasting peace.
