East China's Jiangsu province has stepped up the construction of major investment projects and ensured their smooth progress through every possible effort so as to fulfill goals for social and economic development set forth in this year's government work report. JSBC has the story.
In Lianyungang Petrochemical Industry Base, the lifting and installation of the four decarbonization towers of Shenghong Chemical New Materials Project has been completed, making it the first large tower installed in the project.
With the close cooperation of crawler crane and tail crane, all the departments worked together to achieve installation and seating in no more than 90 minutes, marking the official entry of the Shenghong Chemical New Material Project into the equipment installation stage.
"Projects such as propylene oxide, styrene, and high-end polyolefin will drive the group's industrial chain to continue to extend vertically, cutting into new fields such as high-end polyurethane packaging materials, promoting Lianyungang to create a strong fulcrum for the new material industry, and helping the port city to achieve catch-up and leadership in the new material field," said Zhu Hengjun, Project Leader of Shenghong Chemical New Materials.
Shenghong Chemical New Materials Project has a total investment of 21.6 billion yuan and plans to construct projects with an annual output of 700 thousand tons of EVA, that is, 50 thousand tons of ethylene vinyl acetate copolymer and high-end polyolefin, as well as propylene oxide, styrene, and polyols.
When the project is completed, Shenghong will become the world's largest high-end EVA supply base, with a global market share of photovoltaic grade EVA ranking first in the world, providing a stable guarantee for the country's clean energy transformation.
The Zhangjiahe Sluice Station Project located in Binhai County is one of the pilot projects of the Huaihe River Seaway Phase II Project, one of the 55 key water conservancy projects promoted by the government this year, and also the largest water conservancy project with the largest investment and engineering volume in Jiangsu.
The project will further expand the flood outlet in the lower reaches of the Huaihe River, reduce the opportunities for flood detention around Hongze Lake, and effectively improve the drainage conditions in the north of the canal.
"Upon completion, the flood control standard for Hongze Lake in the lower reaches of the Huaihe River will be upgraded to withstand a once-in 300-year flood, ensuring the safety of over 20 million people and over 30 million mu of farmland during the flood season," said Yang Jun, Project Manager of Zhangjiahe Gate Station Project in Binhai County.
Jurong County is accelerating the construction of its pumped storage power station. The upper reservoir of the Jurong Pumped Storage Power Station has more than 30 million cubic meters of earth and rock filling capacity, and the lower reservoir has 16.9495 million cubic meters of water, which is equivalent to the water of a West Lake rushing back and forth between two super large reservoirs, forming a super large power bank.
"We have a total of 6 power generating units. The underground powerhouse is undergoing concrete pouring for the power generation base of Unit 1, which is scheduled to be completed by the end of August. Unit 1 is scheduled to be put into operation by the end of October next year for power generation," said Wang Shuang'an, Safety Supervision Department of Jiangsu Jurong Pumped Storage Co., Ltd. of State Grid Xinyuan Group.
The Jurong Pumped Storage Power Station will absorb 1.8 billion kWh of low valley surplus electricity, and the stored energy will supply 1.35 billion kWh of electricity to the grid every year.
