Xu Kunlin pointed out that the current resurgence of the COVID-19 epidemic in Jiangsu has made the situation extremely severe, and the task of prevention and control extremely arduous.
He said that winning the victory in epidemic prevention and control is related to the safety and health of the 85 million people in Jiangsu, the stable and healthy development of Jiangsu's economy and society, and the overall situation of national epidemic prevention and control, making it all the more important to gain a deep understanding of the decisive significance that the Party has established Comrade Xi Jinping’s core position on the Party Central Committee and in the Party as a whole and defined the guiding role of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for the New Era from the political height of strengthening the four consciousnesses and the four self-confidences, safeguarding the authority of the CPC Central Committee and getting united around the centralized and unified leadership the CPC Central Committee with Comrade Xi Jinping at the core.
He demanded that epidemic prevention and control be the top priority and priority at present, further optimize and upgrade prevention and control measures, adhere to the general strategy of preventing inbound cases from overseas and sporadic resurgence at home and use the strictest means to stop the spread of the epidemic.
The governor required further efforts to strengthen the epidemic prevention and control at schools, construction sites, nursing homes, prisons and farmers markets.
He called for immediate large-scale nucleic acid testing by combining antigen screening and nucleic acid diagnosis and improve the sensitivity of monitoring and early warning.
Measures should be taken to standardize the management of isolation points, designated hospitals, and nucleic acid testing sites, reduce group gatherings, and race against time to quickly and completely eliminate the epidemic in Lianyungang, said the governor.
