Wu Zhenglong, governor of Jiangsu province, called for further efforts to strengthen the party history learning and education campaign and study General Secretary Xi Jinping’s letter of reply to the students from the Xin'an Primary School of Huai’an city.
Wu Zhenglong visited the historical memorial hall of Xin'an Touring Troupe of Xin'an Primary School and the Memorial Park of the New Fourth Army Liulaozhuang Company.
Xin'an Primary School was founded in 1929 by Tao Xingzhi, a teacher acclaimed as the people’s educator. In 1935, the school's teachers and students formed the children's revolutionary group Xin'an Touring Troupe to publicize the awareness of resisting Japanese aggression for national salvation. They experienced the exercise and test of blood and fire when traveling throughout most of China. They were praised by proletarian revolutionaries such as Mao Zedong and Zhou Enlai.
Right before this year’s International Children's Day, General Secretary Xi Jinping wrote a letter of reply to the students from the Xin'an Primary School to wish them a happy children’s day.
Wu Zhenglong hoped that Xin'an Primary School will implement the spirit of the General Secretary’s important reply in all aspects of teaching and educating the students. He hoped that the children will keep in mind General Secretary Xi Jinping’s concern and instructions and grow up to become socialist builders and successors with all-round development of morality, intelligence, physical education, and labor.
The Governor also visited the Memorial Park of the Liulaozhuang Company, a military unit of the Communist-led New Fourth Army whose soldiers gave their lives during the war of resistance against Japanese aggression in the 1940s.
Wu Zhenglong visited the cucumber production base in Dingji Town to learn about breeding, seedling cultivation, sales, prices and the promotion of the farmers' income through specialty farm produce.
He asked the local government to give full play to the advantages of the local climate and soil, adhere to green development, improve the mechanism for farmers’ income growth and promote urban-rural integration.
When visiting Wanjiaxin Fungus Technology Company, Wu Zhenglong urged the local officials to accurately understand the new development stage, act on the new development philosophy and accelerate the establishment of the new development paradigm so as to better coordinate development and safety, and comprehensively promote rural revitalization.
He called for greater efforts to strengthen agricultural supply-side structural reforms, food security, improvement of rural houses, ecological civilization construction, routine epidemic prevention and control, production safety, flood prevention and drought relief, and promote high-quality and efficient agricultural development.
