The Jiangsu Provincial Government and China National Offshore Oil Corporation signed an agreement Wednesday in Nanjing on deepening comprehensive strategic cooperation.
Before the signing ceremony, Provincial Party Secretary Lou Qinjian and Governor Wu Zhenglong met with CNOOC Chairman Wang Dongjin.
Lou Qinjian and Wu Zhenglong expressed their gratitude to CNOOC Group Co., Ltd. for its contribution to Jiangsu's economic and social development.
Lou Qinjian said that with a view to taking the lead in the country in achieving the goal of carbon emission peak, Jiangsu will continue to promote the transformation of development mode and industrial structure adjustment with great resolution, and make greater efforts to promote high-quality coastal development, which will prove to be new growth potentials for both sides to deepen comprehensive cooperation.
He hoped that the two parties would seize development opportunities to deepen strategic coordination, focus on major projects and strengthen systematic planning, effectively create a new model of strategic cooperation between central enterprises and local governments, and jointly make new contributions to serving the overall development of the country.
Wang Dongjin thanked Jiangsu Province for its strong support for the development of CNOOC Group, and hailed Jiangsu's achievements in the in-depth implementation of the new development concept and high-quality development.
He said that CNOOC Group will copy Jiangsu's development experiences, accelerate the implementation of major cooperation projects, and play its due role in Jiangsu's modernization process.
According to the agreement signed on Wednesday, Jiangsu and CNOOC will give full play to their respective advantages and jointly promote strategic cooperation in the fields of clean energy, green transportation, high-end refining, emerging oceans, ecological and environmental protection so as to achieve a higher level of complementary advantages and win-win development.
