As a key project of Jiangsu province and Nanjing, LG New Energy Lithium-ion battery European project was completed in Nanjing BinjiangDevelopment Zone Tuesday morning.
Han Liming, member of the standing committee of the CPC Jiangsu Provincial Committee and secretary of the Nanjing Municipal CPC Committee, attended the ceremony. The European project plant of LG new energy lithium-ion battery, which was completed and put into production, has a total investment of US $1.3 billion and a construction area of 160 thousand square meters. It mainly supplies new energy vehicle power batteries to the European market.
Six related supporting enterprises signed the agreement to settle in Nanjing Binjiang Development Zone. It is understood that LG New Energy (Nanjing) is the largest and most invested manufacturing base of LG new energy investment lithium power industry in the world, and has a world leading level in mobile device batteries, car batteries and ESS batteries. In the first quarter of this year, LG new energy achieved sales of US $3.82 billion and operating profit of US $310 million.
