People from across Jiangsu province visited martyrs’ memorials and cemeteries on Qingming Festival or Tomb-Sweeping Day to pay homage to the revolutionary heroes who gave their life for the founding of new China.
On April 2nd, right before the Qingming Festival, the relatives of five martyrs Huang Zhangshui, Chen Qingshui, Xu Zhenghai, Jin Akang, and Hu Rongshan visited the Revolutionary Martyrs Monument in Sanjiangying, Yangzhou, and paid homage to their relatives who sacrificed their lives for the founding of the People’s Republic of China.
In April 1949, 67 officers and soldiers of the People's Liberation Army died in the battle of liberating Sanjiangying and the Amethyst Incident. But nobody knew their hometown and age.

Various parts of Jiangsu have given full play to the revolutionary education resources to inspire the students to love the party, the motherland, and socialism through edification, interaction, and online tomb sweeping.
Liuji Primary School in Siyang County invited veteran soldiers to tell revolutionary stories for the young pioneers.
Zhou Bingde, the niece of China’s late Premier Zhou Enlai, was invited to hold an online party class for teachers and students of Jiangsu Vocational College of Electronics and Information and children of Xigaze Children's Welfare Center in Tibet.
Former revolutionary sites received throngs of visitors during the Qingming Festival which falls on April 5th.
