East China’s Jiangsu province has taken targeted measures to create new jobs and stabilize employment in the post-pandemic economic recovery so as to mitigate the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the economy.

Jiangsu has launched training sessions for the 25 new occupations added to the list of occupations by the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security.

The provincial department of human resources and social security has made continuous efforts to formulate professional competency standards, organize training and assessment for the new occupations that include the province’s first ever e-commerce livestreaming test in Yangzhou city in August.

In the meantime, Jiangsu has paid for the creation of grassroots job vacancies for the fresh college graduates. The new jobs created at the grassroots community for the college graduates include social grid management agents and some others.

Social grid agents are involved in community management services and all aspects of residents’ lives. Now grid agents are officially recognized as a new occupation, greatly improving its social recognition and credibility. I am also more confident to serve the residents well, and I believe that more college students will take full-time grid agents in their career choice.

Jiangsu has unveiled 11 measures to facilitate the employment for the fresh college graduates by extending preferential policies in the recruitment of civil servants and employees of government-sponsored institutions.

The city of Nanjing has allocated 1 billion yuan for the creation of 100 thousand trainee positions.

The city has also launched special job fairs for migrant workers, fishermen returning aquatic cultivation to lakes and rivers and ex-servicemen.

Jiangsu has also carried out "100-day free skills training" and offered e-training resources for more than 100 for occupations while strengthening online employment services to provide job seekers with all-weather and full-process services.

Livestreaming recruitment is noted for more information, wider coverage and higher reception efficiency, so we have launched this permanent recruitment platform to provide longer-term and equal employment services

635.4 thousand urban jobs were created in Jiangsu in the first half of this year, statistics show.

In the second half of this year, Jiangsu will make unremitting efforts to ensure stability on the six fronts and security in the six areas.

Efforts will be made to ensure that 92% of the fresh college graduates will be employed by the end of this year.

Special job fairs will be launched for migrant workers through end-to-end services to facilitate labor cooperation and employment-based poverty alleviation.
