East China’s Jiangsu province will make unremitting efforts to harmonize the construction of a moderately well-off society with the improvement of rural environment by bringing new vigor and vitality to the rural revitalization campaign, according to the 8th plenary session of the 13th CPC Jiangsu Provincial Committee that was kicked off last Tuesday in Nanjing
The beautiful China campaign is inseparable from the improvement of the rural environment. Today, walking on the vast rural land of Jiangsu, people can clearly feel that the 189 thousand natural villages in the province are undergoing huge and far-reaching changes. The improvement of the living environment has given the rural environment a face-lift and nurtured one happy story after another.
Blue sky, white walls, black tiles and clear water, this is what Tangzhuang Village looks like now. The breathtaking changes started to emerge three years ago when the village was included in the first batch of characteristic pastoral village pilot projects in the province.
On this grassy beach, a small boat and more than 10 cormorants accompanied the 76-year-old Tao Guanbao for more than 50 years and witnessed the changes in the village.
In the past, due to long-term reclamation and fish pond farming, the lake water was not visible in the grass beach.
Beginning in 2017, Tangzhuang Village has carried out a series of projects such as returning the reclaimed land to the lake, river dredging, and domestic sewage treatment, enabling Tao Guanbao to once again find the childhood memories of the blue sky, clear water, and beautiful environment.
In Tangzhuang Village in midsummer, green is the main tone. On more than 3,000 mu of land, organic rice is being jointed and growing and contiguous peach orchards are already fruitful.
Under the tracts of fruit trees, the ecologically raised white geese and native chickens are cheering, which outlines the epitome of the village's characteristic agricultural industry project.
Many people in charge of industrial projects are young people who have taken the initiative to return to their hometowns to start businesses after seeing the changes in the village in the past two years.
Tangzhuang Village is not alone when it comes to the development of characteristic pastoral villages in Taizhou. Together, they are the bright pearls shining on the land of fish and rice in Lixiahe.
All parts of Jiangsu are transforming the deep homesickness into a visible and retainable local flavor by combining their own styles and features such as the riverside homes in the southern areas and the new type of villages in the northern areas.
In Songzhangkou Community, Siyang County, a professional team used the original 80 mu of water to build a Song Dynasty-style residential complex.
In Wangtun Community by the Jinhu Lake in Huai’an, every 30-50 households form a residential group with interspersed and integrated micro-pastoral and micro-landscapes and the patchy, clean and beautiful new homes have become the pride of the villagers.
