East China’s Jiangsu province kicked off the construction of 220 major investment projects in the first quarter of this year to ensure that the investment momentum matched that of the same period of last year.
In the first quarter, the construction of major projects in the province exceeded expectations. As of March 31, the province had reported resumption of 168 of the 220 major investment projects, standing for 76.4% of the total.
103 projects that started construction last year had resumed production as of early April.
65 of the 117 newly-approved projects had started construction as of recently, standing for 55.6% of the total and 1.6 percentage points higher from a year ago.
The development of new infrastructures has gathered momentum. 32 of the 42 investment projects in new infrastructures have resumed production.
22.75% of the investment has been injected into wireless Jiangsu and other new types of telecommunication projects.
24 of the 28 related projects have resumed production with 26.1% of the capital poured into the projects.
More than 200 thousand workers have returned to their jobs at major investment projects, sanding for 95% of the total.
