East China’s Jiangsu province has stood together with people in other countries by contributing its share in China’s provision of medical assistance and information sharing. It is expected to help shore up confidence of other countries in their fights against the novel coronavirus and deepen mutual trust and friendship in a community of shared public health.
The Chinese medical team, consisting of experts from Jiangsu, held working meetings with Venezuelan Ministry of Health officials and medical experts to share China’s experiences in fighting the pandemic.
Carlos Humberto Alvarado Gonzalez, Venezuelan Minister of Health, briefed the Chinese experts on Venezuela’s measures on epidemic prevention and treatment.
Chinese experts provided detailed answers to the questions concerning the use of steroids, the therapeutic effect of plasma in patients during rehabilitation, the use of non-invasive ventilator, and prone ventilation.

The medical team from east China’s Jiangsu province arrived in Caracas, capital of Venezuela, on March 30. The team of 8 front-line experts from Jiangsu will help contain the novel coronavirus or COVID-19 pandemic in the South American country.
The expert group carried with them anti-epidemic materials and medicines such as ventilator, portable color Doppler ultrasound, nucleic acid detection kits, medical protective masks, protective clothing, and isolation clothing.
