The Guanggu Branch of Tongji Hospital, Central China University of Science and Technology, has been cleared of novel coronavirus infection, thanks to the strenuous and concerted efforts of the medical teams from six provincial regions.
Over the past two month, more than 2300 doctors and nurses of 17 medical teams from Shanghai, Guangdong, Shandong, Zhejiang, Jiangsu and Fujian rushed to aid the battle against the virus in Guanggu Branch of Tongji Hospital of Wuhan, the epicenter of the coronavirus outbreak.
They have joined hands with the 800 doctors and nurses of Guanggu Branch of Tongji Hospital to continue the fight against the virus until the hospital is marked clear of coronavirus infection cases.
656 doctors and nurses from Jiangsu, including team 1 and team 2 from Nanjing, team of Wuxi and team 1 and team 2 from Suzhou, cured 370 confirmed cases during the past two months.
The team of Wuxi carried out a percutaneous tracheotomy for critically ill patients diagnosed with COVID-19. The surgery, which lasted one minute and 39 seconds, is the first of its kind ever performed in Guanggu Branch of Tongji Hospital.
The doctors from Suzhou insisted on integrating traditional Chinese medicine and western medicine therapy so as to achieve good curing effects.
Team 2 of Nanjing carried out artificial lung and continuous renal replacement therapy with zero death.
