Some recovered coronavirus patients in Jiangsu Province have donated their plasma to those in severe condition in Wuhan, epicenter of the novel coronavirus disease or COVID-19, JSBC reports on Sunday.
One recovered patient in Lianyungang City and a father and daughter in Xuzhou City volunteered to donate their blood plasma.
The three are the province's first donors of the blood plasma for epidemic control.
Among them are a father and a daughter. They were discharged after being treated at a local hospital for more than 10 days. They said that four members of their family were patients of the novel coronavirus pneumonia. After learning that they could donate plasma to help save the critically ill patients, they all signed up without hesitation.
Some other cured patients in Suzhou, Yancheng and Changzhou also donated their blood plasma to help save more patients infected with the deadly disease.
Experts are encouraging more patients who have recovered from the novel coronavirus to donate their plasma to save those in critical condition.
