2492 doctors and nurses from east China’s Jiangsu province have been working hard in central China’s Hubei Province to help contain the novel coronavirus epidemic there.
At Wuhan Jinyintan Hospital, a patient in critical condition did not improve after undergoing more than 20 days of treatment. The medical team from Jiangsu installed the Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation, the so-called artificial lung, and the patient started to recover.
Pan Chun, a doctor from Jiangsu ,he said, “We prescribed these antiviral drugs in accordance with the treatment guidelines recommended by the expert group.The patient is then injected with antiviral plasma,The use of ECMO (artificial lung) assistive technology is meant to actively protect the patient’s lung.We are confident that every patient will recover.”
Overcoming the epidemic requires not only the rich clinical experience of the doctors, but also the patient's continued confidence.
At the Wuhan Tongji Hospital Sino-French Wuhan Ecological Demonstration City Branch, the nursing staff of the Jiangsu Medical Team found that some patients were very anxious. In their spare time, the nurses wrote 50 pieces of blessings to relieve tension for the patients
Chao Yali, a doctor from Jiangsu,"When I went to the rounds that day ,the patients were so excited that they kept holding their fist and told us to cheer.Later ,the nurses conducted counseling and the patients were able to cooperate well and slowly get out of bed."
A patient said,"I believe that with your help and support we will be able to weather this crisis very quickly.Thank you very much for your kindness."
