The construction of a new Jiangsu should be promoted by following the Xi Jinping Thought on socialism with Chinese characteristics for a new era, implementing the General Secretary’s important speech about Jiangsu’s work in the new era and the spirit of the 19th National Congress of the CPC and the 2nd, 3rd, 4th Plenary Sessions of the 19th Central Committee of the CPC and the Central Economic Work Conference, summarizing the five-year practices and achievements in the construction of a new Jiangsu, mapping out plans for new year’s work and making arrangements for promoting the modernization of provincial governance systems and governance capabilities, the statement said.
It is important to implement the "Opinions of the Jiangsu Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of China on Implementing the Spirit of the Fourth Plenary Session of the 19th Central Committee of the CPC and Promoting the Modernization of Provincial Governance System and Governance Capacity" so as to highlight the general guidance of high-quality development, adhere to the general tone of making steady progress while maintaining stability, practice the new development concepts, focus on the main line of supply-side structural reform, take the reform and opening up as the driving force and win the three tough battles of preventing and defusing financial risks, targeted poverty alleviation, and pollution control, according to the statement.
More work needs to be done to maintain stable and healthy economic development, grasp industrial transformation and upgrading, rural rejuvenation, ecological civilization construction, regional coordinated development, reform and opening up, guarantee and improve people's livelihood, maintain social security and stability, and give full play to the special programs addressing both the symptoms and root causes of production safety, the statement said.
