Wu Zhenglong, governor of Jiangsu, met Thursday in Nanjing with the VIPs attending the 9th China Post Cultural Festival. The VIPs include Ma Junsheng, Minister of the State Post Office, Bishar Hussein, Director General of the Universal Postal Union, and Zhao Houlin, secretary-general of the International Telecommunication Union.
Wu Zhenglong expressed his gratitude to the State Post Office, UPU, and International Telecommunication Union for their long-term care and support to Jiangsu.
He said that Gaoyou County in Jiangsu enjoys a long history of postal culture and is the only city in the country that is named after postal service. He wished the 9th China Post Cultural Festival a complete success in Gaoyou.
Wu Zhenglong hoped that the UPU and the International Telecommunication Union would continue to support the development of Jiangsu’s post and telecommunications, and jointly promote the "Belt and Road" through further opening and cooperation.
He hoped that the State Post Bureau will as always care about Jiangsu and support Jiangsu, and jointly implements the newly-signed cooperation agreement, join hands to promote the high-quality development of Jiangsu’s postal industry, and strive to create a high-quality life for the people.
Ma Junsheng said that we will take the signing of the cooperation agreement as a new starting point, speed up the strategic layout, give full play to the advantages of Jiangsu, encourage and support postal express delivery companies to expand cooperation with Jiangsu for greater space, and jointly build a modern postal service system for the high-quality development of Jiangsu.
Bishar Hussein and Zhao Houlin stated that the Universal Postal Union, and the International Telecommunication Union will further deepen their close cooperation with Jiangsu’s post and telecom to inject new momentum into the province's high-quality development.
