As the connectivity of traffic infrastructure constitutes the forerunning basis of the national strategy of the Yangtze River Delta integration, Jiangsu has been sparing no efforts to push forward infrastructure construction via seamless integration of the traffic networks at various levels.

The connection of interprovincial dead-end roads caused by administrative division will strongly enhance the accessibility and connectivity of interprovincial traffic network while rapidly promoting the integration of the Yangtze River Delta. 23 such dead-end roads are right now under construction between Suzhou and Shanghai to pave the way for interprovincial public transit.

Several years ago, the Jiangsu-Shanghai-Zhejiang border area could only develop short-distance bus transfer network due to the difference in their respective public transit planning and pricing. Thanks to the integration of the Yangtze River Delta, Jiangsu, Shanghai and Zhejiang have broken the barriers to open to traffic six interprovincial bus routes just in Wujiang alone.
Deputy District Chief, Wujiang District, Suzhou
In the past,we used to pay more attention to the development of our own region,But the implementation of the Yangtze River Delta integration strategy has allowed us to keep in mind overall development while enhancing the sense of mutual cooperation.
If we consider the connection of dead-end roads and interprovincial public transit as the blood capillary of the traffic connectivity in the Yangtze River Delta, then the construction of new outlet for container transportation of the Yangtze River in Tongzhou Bay, which is mapped out in the Outline of Regional Integration Development Planning for the Yangtze River Delta, will help to connect the aortaof shipping. Tongzhou Bay is currently working on the construction of three deep water roadways, three river-sea intermodal transportation channels, three highway accesses as well as two rail freight transportation channels. The Tongzhou Bay port area is expected to take shape and start operation in 2022. At the Sanjiasha Wharf in Tongzhou Bay, the project of international automobile logistics port has been checked, accepted and dredged, whereas the 280,000-squter-meter space has been constructed, which will hopefully be ready for automobile roll-on in early September.
