Lou Qinjian, secretary of the CPC Jiangsu Provincial Committee, met Wednesday in Nanjing with Park Byeong-suk, former deputy speaker of National Assembly of the Republic of Korea.
Lou Qinjian expressed his warm welcome to Park Byeong-suk’s visit and expressed his appreciation for Park’s contribution to promoting the friendship between the two countries.
When meeting with the Governor and Speaker of Jeollabuk-do Lou recalled his visit to Jeollabukdo last May, adding that since the twinning relationship between the two provinces, the exchanges between the two sides have become increasingly close and the cooperation has been fruitful.
Lou briefed the Korean guests on the convergence of opportunities in Jiangsu such as the construction of the Belt and Road, the development of the Yangtze River Economic Belt, and the regional integration of the Yangtze River Delta as well as the opportunities from growing market space, technology supply, headquarters economy and hub economic brought about by the adjustment of the world trade pattern.
The CPC Provincial Chief noted that Jiangsu is willing to share the cooperative opportunities with South Korea from the overlapping effects of the national strategies such as the Belt and Road initiative, the Yangtze River Economic Belt and the integrated development of the Yangtze River Delta region.
He hoped that the traditional friendship will be further deepened at a new starting point, and opportunities will be seized to expand cooperation in the fields of economy, trade, China-ROK Yancheng Industrial Park and the Saemangeum Industrial Park, culture and tourism to better benefit the people of the two provinces.
Park Byeong-suk said that he was very happy to visit the beautiful city of Nanjing for the first time and thanked Secretary Lou for his efforts to promote cooperation between South Korea and China.
Park said that Jiangsu has an important position and special significance in the friendly cooperation between South Korea and China, adding that in recent years, Jiangsu's economic and social development has made remarkable achievements.
He said the National Assembly of South Korea is willing to walk side by side with Jiangsu and carry out substantive cooperation in the fields of Saemangeum Industrial Park, education and culture to promote the relationship between the two sides to a new higher level.
