The standing members of the CPC Jiangsu Provincial Committee visited the Zhou Enlai Memorial Museum as a sign of unleashing the campaign to staying true to the Party's founding mission to meet people's aspirations to live a better life and realize national rejuvenation.
The team of the standing members was headed by Lou Qinjian, secretary of the CPC Jiangsu Provincial Committee. They traveled to Huai’an city, the hometown of China’s late premier Zhou Enlai.
The leading officials of the provincial people’s congress, the provincial government and the provincial committee of the CPPCC joined in the visit.
They were joined by Yu Xun and Jiang Ping, director and deputy director of the 3rd steering group of the Central Committee.
The leading officials arrived at the main square of the memorial museum with great reverence, walked up the steps and stood in silence to pay tribute to Zhou Enlai.
In the former residence of Zhou Enlai, they paid tribute to the desk Zhou Enlai used in his childhood and the worn-out quilts with patches.
The leading officials stood in front of the yellowish photos, the simple objects and the precious video clips to remember the brilliant life of Premier Zhou.
The leading officials were impressed by the fact that in his childhood, Premier Zhou was determined to "read for the rise of China" and devoted his life to pursuing the truth and educating everyone.
In the afternoon, the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee held a group study seminar. Cao Yingwang, an expert on the research of Zhou Enlai’s life and former researcher of the Central Literature Research Institute, gave a lecture on Zhou’s insistence on staying true to the Party’s founding mission.
The leading officials noted that Premier Zhou is a spiritual monument of high stalwart, an immortal banner of the Chinese Communists, and an outstanding model of admiration for the world. His life is a vivid epitome of staying true to our party's founding mission and bearing in mind the history.
Lou Qinjian remarked that Comrade Zhou Enlai had been working for the Chinese people to seek happiness for the Chinese people and for the Chinese nation. He had dedicated everything to the party, the country, and the people. His glorious deeds and great character are the most vivid and most effective example in carrying out the theme education of staying true to the Party’s founding mission.
Studying Zhou Enlai's spirit and practicing the founding mission means that we should be loyal to the Party from the political height of strengthening the four consciousnesses and the four self-confidences, safeguarding the authority of the CPC Central Committee and getting united around the centralized and unified leadership the CPC Central Committee with Comrade Xi Jinping as the core, the CPC Provincial chief said.
Lou stressed that to learn Zhou Enlai's spirit and practice the founding mission, we should more consciously adhere to the people-centered approach, promote people's livelihood and maintain the founding mission for the benefit of the people.
He emphasized that studying Zhou Enlai's spirit and practicing the founding mission should vigorously promote the values of the Communists and enhance the people's trust and confidence in our party with people-centered, clean and honest image.
The CPC Provincial chief demanded that the leading officials at all levels in the province must strictly follow the spirit of Zhou Enlai, and strengthen their ideals and beliefs so as to continuously transform the effectiveness of the theme education into practical results that promote high-quality development and accelerate the construction of new Jiangsu.
The CPC Central Committee has launched a campaign themed “staying true to our founding mission” among all Party members, especially officials at or above the county and director level.
The fundamental task of the campaign is to study and implement the Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, to forge individual traits of loyalty, integrity and a keen sense of responsibility and to unite the Chinese people of all ethnic groups and lead them to strive together for the realization of the great dream, Xi said at end of May at a conference on an educational campaign themed "Remaining true to the Party's original aspirations and keeping its mission firmly in mind".
The original aspiration and mission of the CPC was to help the Chinese people achieve happiness and to rejuvenate the Chinese nation, Xi said, adding that the top-down campaign for all Party members aims to eliminate problems that affect the Party's purity and make it even stronger and more forceful.
Zhou Enlai, born in 1898 and died in 1976, was China’s premier from 1949 to 1976.
