The Jiangsu Islamic Association held its 7th congress from June 11th to 13th in Nanjing. Present at the opening ceremony were Yang Yue, member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee and head of the United Front Work Department of the Provincial Party Committee, and Vice Governor Chen Xingying.
Yang Yue pointed out that the Jiangsu Islamic Association has fully implemented the spirit of the national and provincial religious work conferences, always holding high the banner of patriotism and love of the motherland, and always maintain loyalty to the provincial party committee and the provincial government.
The Jiangsu Islamic Association has united the Muslim people in the province to adapt to the new era, practice new ideas, and demonstrate new achievements by cooperating with and assisting relevant departments to timely and properly handle various disputes involving the Muslims, safeguarding the legitimate rights and interests of religious believers, and making positive contribution to building a new Jiangsu.
He hoped that the Islamic community in the province will continue to promote the localization of Islam, serve the overall situation of economic and social development and strengthen the self-construction of religious groups.
Mi Qizhi was elected as the president of the Jiangsu Islamic Association.
