Shen Yueyue, Vice Chairwoman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress and Chairwoman of the All-China Women's Federation, called for greater women’s role in social and economic development. She made the remarks when going on an inspection tour to Nanjing on women’s role in the society on the sidelines of participating in China's top legislator Li Zhanshu inspection tour to Jiangsu on the legislative support to protecting the Yangtze River.
Shen Yueyue visited grassroots women’s groups in Nanjing to learn about the local government’s efforts in serving the women’s needs.
She demanded that women’s federations at all levels should from the political height of strengthening the four consciousnesses and the four self-confidences, safeguarding the authority of the CPC Central Committee and getting united around the centralized and unified leadership the CPC Central Committee with Comrade Xi Jinping as the core so as to maintain loyalty to the CPC Central Committee ideologically and politically.
Shen asked the grassroots women’s federations to eulogize the motherland and sing high praise for the Party, the motherland and the new era by centering on the upcoming celebration of the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China.
The Chairwoman of the All-China Women's Federation reiterated that doing a good job in family work is an important task assigned by the Party Central Committee to the women's federation and an important focus for the women's federation to get organized to serve the overall situation and serve women.
She urged the women’s federations at all levels to adhere to problem-oriented and demand-oriented thinking, help children build up standards of behavior, parents have guidelines for parenting, and children buckle the first button of life by strengthening service awareness, providing parents with convenient, professional family education guidance services.
Shen also asked the women’s federations to get actively involved in the theme education of “staying true to our founding mission" among all Party members.
