The reply letter written to the young pioneers of a primary school in Nanjing by Lou Qinjian, secretary of the CPC Jiangsu Provincial Committee, has sparked heated response among the students in Jiangsu.
On the eve of the June 1st International Children's Day, Lou Qinjian wrote in reply to a letter to the young pioneers of the Huagang First Primary School in Nanjing, expressing his sincere hope that the children will bring their colorful "little dreams" into the great dream of national rejuvenation and become useful talents for the construction of the motherland when they grow up.
Most of the students in Nanjing Huagang First Primary School are from families of migrant workers. On May 29 last year, Lou Qinjian visited this primary school on an inspection tour, and was invited by the students to participate in a ceremony marking the students’ joining the Young Pioneers.
On May 6 this year, the young pioneers of the primary school wrote a letter to Lou to report on their growth and learning over the past year, expressing the determination to strengthen study and exercise and become good successors of the motherland.
Gao Qing, an 11-year-old from Anhui, is a fourth grader at Nanjing Huagang First Primary School where Lou Qinjian had an inspection tour last year.
Gao and her peers wrote a letter to the CPC Provincial chief on May 6th to report on their growth and learning.
Gao Qing, a young pioneer of Nanjing Huagang First Primary School
Grandpa Lou has replied to us, which made all of us very excited. Last year, in his inspection tour to our school, he said the young pioneers are the leading workforce of the construction in the future. He asked us to study hard and we will do so in order to live up to his expectation.
Zhao Ziting, a young pioneer of Nanjing Huagang First Primary School
In his reply letter, Grandpa Lou hoped that we will always have a grateful heart, study hard, and actively exercise, repay the family and the society, and gain a good command of every step of life. We will certainly study hard, work hard, and strive to be a good boy in the new era.
With the imminent arrival of the June 1st International Children's Day, the young pioneers from all over the province are celebrating their festivals by studying the advanced deeds of role models and holding growing-up ceremonies. The reply from the CPC Provincial secretary has served as a precious holiday gift.
Chen Ruoshui, a young pioneer of Yunxing Primary School in Xuzhou
Grandpa Lou wants us to learn to be a good child since childhood. I am ten years old and will strive to serve the motherland and become a pillar for the country.
Mao Yaxin, a 5th grader of Canglang Experimental Primary School, Suzhou
We should be good at study and have greater sense of responsibility. I want to learn from Qian Xuesen and make great contribution to the space industry in the future.
After reading the reply letter from Secretary Lou Qinjian, the teachers in various parts of the province said that they should educate the students to establish lofty ideals and high goals, encourage them to have dreams and pursue dreams, create a good environment for children's learning and growth, and become useful talents for the country.
Fang Yu, a teacher of Baoxu Central Primary School, Taizhou
It is important to guide the children to combine their personal ideals with the dreams of the country and work hard for a better future.
Guo Hongxia, Headmaster of Nanjing Honggang First Primary School
From this letter, I feel the concern and love of Secretary Lou towards education. As an educator, we must do our best to use our patience to lead children to grow up healthily and happily.
