A forum on poverty alleviation cooperation between Jiangsu and Shaanxi was held Thursday in Xi’an, capital city of northwest China’s Shaanxi province. Jiangsu Provincial Party Secretary Lou Qinjian, Governor Wu Zhenglong, Shaanxi Provincial Party Secretary Hu Heping, and Governor Liu Guozhong attended the forum.
On behalf of the Jiangsu Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial Government, Lou Qinjian expressed his gratitude to Shaanxi Province for its long-term support for Jiangsu work and for the concern shown towards the Jiangsu officials sent to work in Shaanxi. He also congratulated on the achievements of various undertakings in Shaanxi Province.
Lou Qinjian said that Shaanxi is home to Yan'an, the Chinese revolutionary holy land, and has made outstanding contributions to national liberation and national independence. It is of great significance to do a good job in poverty alleviation cooperation between Jiangsu and Shaanxi, he added.
We must conscientiously implement General Secretary Xi Jinping’s spirit of a series of important speeches on poverty alleviation, resolutely implement the requirements of the central government’s deployment, and work with Shaanxi to further implement the major political responsibilities of poverty alleviation, Lou said.
On the basis of the achievements of good cooperation, we should give full play to the characteristics of the two provinces, further improve the cooperation and exchange mechanism, and further promote innovation cooperation, industrial cooperation, open cooperation and exchange of cadres and talents, and learn from each other's strengths and common development in cooperation, said Lou Qinjian.
Hu Heping said that the visit to Shaanxi by Jiangsu provincial party and government delegation for further cooperation on poverty alleviation between Jiangsu and Shaanxi fully reflects the firm attitude of the Jiangsu Provincial Party Committee and the provincial government in implementing the central decision-making arrangement, and the Jiangsu people’s deep affection towards the Shaanxi people.
Hu Heping hoped that Shaanxi will take advantage of the opportunity of the visit to Shaanxi by the party and government delegation of Jiangsu to further improve the communication and cooperation mechanism between Jiangsu and Shaanxi, enrich the content of cooperation, broaden the scope of cooperation, and promote all-round exchanges and cooperation in industry complementarity, opening up, talents and technology and write a new chapter in the cooperation between Jiangsu and Shaanxi in the new era
Wu Zhenglong and Liu Guozhong briefed the participants on the economic and social development of the two provinces and the cooperation on poverty alleviation. The two provinces signed 16 cooperation project agreements including agricultural product processing, garment production and comprehensive utilization of resources. The planned investment will add up to 2.3 billion yuan.
Before the forum, Lou Qinjian and Wu Zhenglong paid a visit to the Jiangsu officials sent to Shaanxi for poverty alleviation and expressed his gratitude to the officials for the efforts made in the past years.
