NPC deputies from Jiangsu province joined panel discussion Wednesday morning to review the government work report delivered by Premier Li Keqiang at the opening ceremony of the second session of the 13th National People's Congress, China's national legislature.
Li Xueyong, an NPC deputy and former governor of Jiangsu, said that the government work report comprehensively implements Xi Jinping's new era of socialism with Chinese characteristics. Facing the new situation and new tasks, we should take Xi Jinping's new era of socialism with Chinese characteristics as the guide, adhere to the principle of striving for stability, implement new development concepts, highlight innovation-powered high-quality development, implement people-centered development concepts, and deepen the reform on the improvement of people's livelihood, improve the basic livelihood security system, solve key livelihood issues such as employment, education, medical care, and old-age care, and effectively enhance the people’s sense of gain, security and happiness.
Jiang Zhuoqing, an NPC deputy and head of the organization department of the CPC Jiangsu Provincial Committee, believes that the government work report reflects the transformation of the government's functions, and the policies such as tax reduction and fee reduction are effective measures for the government to create a good market environment and a policy environment. The report reflects the people-friendly approaches with a view to better protecting and improving the people's livelihood. Chen Zhenning, Ma Qiulin, Wang Jiang, Xia Daohu, Liu Hua put forth proposals on further intensifying law enforcement supervision and inspection, boosting the construction of ecological civilization, contributing more Jiangsu power to the country’s high-quality development, adhering to the market-oriented principles and rule of law in the financial sector, and further improving the financial efficiency of the financial service players.
