CPPCC members from Jiangsu province joined panel discussion Wednesday morning to review the government work report delivered by Premier Li Keqiang at the opening ceremony of the second session of the 13th National People's Congress, China's national legislature.
Huang Lixin, member of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference and chairwoman of the Provincial Political Consultative Conference, said that Xi Jinping's new era of socialism with Chinese characteristics runs through the government work report and fully reflects the requirements of the new development concept.
She said to build a comprehensive well-off society, we must adhere to the general tone of making steady progress while maintain stability, promote economic transformation and upgrading with innovation, deepen market-oriented reforms, expand high-level openness, win the battles in forestalling and defusing financial risks, targeted poverty alleviation and pollution prevention and control, strengthen cultural confidence, promote the comprehensive development of cultural undertakings and cultural industries, and upgrade the people’s sense of gain, security and happiness so that the fruits of reform and development will benefit the people and the province will get ready to welcome the 70th anniversary of the founding of New China with the outstanding achievements of economic and social development.
Luo Zhijun, a member of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, said that the government work report is guided by Xi Jinping's new era of socialism with Chinese characteristics, reflects the new development concept and sets clear direction of high-quality development. He suggested studying and formulating policies and mechanisms to prevent the return to poverty of the "marginal population" by formulating early warning risk system and effective support measures to consolidate and improve poverty alleviation results, strengthen the top-level design of agriculture-related policies, integrate agricultural projects, rationalize the agriculture-related fund management system, and give full play to the important role of projects and funds in the promotion of comprehensive rural revitalization.
Zhang Lianzhen, a member of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, said that the report follows Xi Jinping's new era of socialism with Chinese characteristics. She suggested strengthening environmental education and further raising the awareness of environmental protection among the people in order to promote the construction of ecological civilization, strengthen the comprehensive management of the ecological environment, and develop circular economy and energy conservation so as to boost environmental protection industry, improve the system of ecological civilization and protect the ecological environment with strict systems and laws.
The CPPCC members from Jiangsu said that they will adhere to the guidance of Xi Jinping's new era of socialism with Chinese characteristics, do a good job in all aspects of work, and make new and greater contributions to building a well-off society in an all-round way.
