The provincial government and the Ministry of Commerce signed a provincial-ministerial cooperation framework agreement Saturday in Beijing. Before signing the contract, the provincial party secretary Lou Qinjian and the governor Wu Zhenglong held a working meeting with Zhong Shan, the Minister of Commerce.
Lou Qinjian and Wu Zhenglong thanked the Ministry of Commerce for their long-term support for the development of Jiangsu.
Lou said that Jiangsu has implemented Xi Jinping's new era of socialism with Chinese characteristics and the spirit of the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, and promoted the province’s high-quality development in accordance with the General Secretary's series of important speeches on the work of Jiangsu.
Lou remarked Jiangsu will take the opportunity of the provincial-ministerial cooperation to further strengthen cooperation with the Ministry of Commerce, jointly implement the spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping's important speech, promote all-round high-level opening up, and strive to build an open and strong province in the country.
The CPC Provincial Chief hoped that the Ministry of Commerce will continue to give strong support to the province’s participation in the "Belt and Road" initiative, the construction of an open innovation platform, and the cultivation of international exchange and cooperation platforms so as to jointly make new contributions to the overall development of the country.
Zhong Shan thanked Jiangsu Province for its strong support to the work of the Ministry of Commerce. He said that Jiangsu has always been at the forefront of the country’s reform and opening up due to its developed open economy In recent years, it has made remarkable progress and created many experiences in actively building a new open pattern, cultivating new open kinetic energy, and participating in the construction of the “Belt and Road” so as to make important contributions to the country’s strong economic and trade development.
The Ministry of Commerce will strengthen resource sharing and complementary advantages through provincial-ministerial cooperation to form a synergy for development, and help Jiangsu to accelerate the construction of a new high-level opening-up new pattern and ensure that Jiangsu's high-quality development ranks at the forefront of the country.
Wu Zhenglong and Zhong Shan signed the agreement on behalf of both parties.
According to the cooperation agreement, the two sides will strengthen cooperation in the "Belt and Road" initiative, build an open and innovation system, accelerate the promotion of consumption upgrades, take the lead in building a strong economic and trade province, actively and orderly expand the service industry, build a major open carrier platform, and create service trade innovation highland, and cultivate internationally influential exchange and cooperation platforms so as to promote Jiangsu's business undertakings in the forefront of the country in the new era and form a strong support for the construction of an economic and trade power.
Vice Minister of Commerce Wang Bingnan, Assistant Minister Ren Hongbin, and Vice Governor Guo Yuanqiang attended the talks and the contract signing ceremony.
