The provincial government and the Chinese Academy of Sciences signed a cooperative agreement Saturday in Beijing on the launch of the National Spatial Information Application Platform. Before signing the contract, the provincial party secretary Lou Qinjian and Governor Wu Zhenglong met with Bai Chunli, president of the Chinese Academy of Sciences during a scientific and technological cooperation symposium.
Lou Qinjian expressed his gratitude to the Chinese Academy of Sciences for its long-term support for the development of the province. He said that Jiangsu has thoroughly implemented the important spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping on the work of Jiangsu by following the goal of promoting high-quality development in the forefront of the country.
He said Jiangsu has attached great importance to the leading role of innovation in the high quality development by highlighting basic research and original innovation, and promoting the two-way integration of the innovation chain and the industrial chain, which has opened up a new space for the deepening of cooperation between the province and the Chinese Academy of Sciences.
The CPC Provincial Chief hoped that the two sides will further deepen cooperation, build autonomous and controllable industrial system, give full play to their respective advantages so as to promote the deep integration of industry and technology, and make greater contributions to the construction of the national innovation system.
Wu Zhenglong said that Jiangsu will conscientiously implement the cooperation agreement signed by the two sides, do a good job in various services, and go all out to support the development of the National Spatial Information Application Platform.
Bai Chunli gave a brief introduction on the major scientific and technological achievements of the Chinese Academy of Sciences before expressing his gratitude to Jiangsu Province for its support for the work of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the development of its institutes in Jiangsu.
He said that Jiangsu has a good industrial base, an excellent business environment and a strong innovation atmosphere, making it an important province for the scientific and technological cooperation and the transformation of scientific and technological achievements of the Chinese Academy of Sciences.
Bai also hailed the efforts made by the Jiangsu Provincial Party Committee and the provincial government for the great importance attached to the development of science and technology innovation and the release of series of policy measures to promote technological innovation, which provided strong support for technological innovation.
The President noted that the Chinese Academy of Sciences will implement General Secretary Xi Jinping’s requirements, further integrate Jiangsu's demand for innovation and development, strengthen cooperation in the transformation of scientific research achievements, scientific research platform construction, and personnel training, and contribute more to the high-quality development of Jiangsu.
Ma Qiulin, Vice Governor of Jiangsu, and Xiang Libin, Vice President of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, signed the contract on behalf of both parties.
According to the cooperation agreement, the two parties will cooperate on the building of a spatial information application platform to jointly promote the development of spatial information integrated application industry and ecological construction.
