Lou Qinjian stressed that it is necessary to unify thoughts and actions in accordance with the series of important expositions of General Secretary Xi Jinping on national security, take solid actions to implement the overall national security concept, and effectively set off political responsibilities for safeguarding national security, and comprehensively and accurately investigate and evaluate the risks in various fields so as to resolutely win the battle to forestall and defuse major risks.
Since the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, General Secretary Xi Jinping has put forward an overall view of national security and published a series of important expositions on safeguarding national security and forestalling and defusing major risks, in particular his comprehensive deployment not long ago at the provincial and ministerial level leading officials’ seminar, which has provided a fundamental follow-up for the national security work in the new era, according to a statement released after the meeting.
We must profoundly study and understand the ideological connotation, core essence and fundamental requirements to arm the mind, guide the practice, and promote the work, the statement said.
We must always save against a rainy day, be prepared for danger in times of peace, plan for the overall national security, feel duty-bound to defend the motherland, and effectively unify our thoughts and actions into the important exposition of General Secretary Xi Jinping on national security, resolutely implement the decision-making and deployment of the Party Central Committee for the comprehensive promotion of maintaining national security work, said the statement.
Greater efforts should be made to comprehensively and accurately assess risks in various fields, strengthen investigation and evaluation in areas such as politics, ideology, economy, science and technology, society, external environment, and party building, highlight work priorities, clarify target requirements, and come up with pragmatic measures for national security, according to the statement.
According to the meeting, Jiangsu will make greater efforts to resolutely win the battle of forestalling and defusing major risks, coordinate planning, system prevention, classified policy, and accurate response, strengthen the forecast and early warning so as to timely and decisively deal with the problem of tendencies.
