The standing committee of the CPC Jiangsu Provincial Committee held a meeting Friday to convey the gist of the important instructions made by General Secretary Xi Jinping on the improvement of the work on handling petitions. The meeting also heard briefings on the province’s evaluation and measures on forestalling and defusing major risks. The important instructions of General Secretary Xi Jinping on the work of petitions and visits are of strong ideological, political and guiding nature, which has pointed out the direction for us to do a good job in the new era, according to a statement released after the meeting.
All localities and departments should profoundly study and understand the spirit of the important instructions of the General Secretary, implement the tasks, and ensure that the instructions are implemented in Jiangsu, the statement said.
We must always adhere to the people-centered approach, bear in mind the principle of serving the people wholeheartedly, implement the party's mass line, handle every petition, every visit and every complaint so as to be informed of the voices of the people, and respond to the call of the people on the most concerned issues, focus on solving the problems that are of real interests to the people and continuously enhance the people's sense of acquisition and satisfaction with practical actions, the statement said.
Greater efforts should be made to speed up the high quality improvement on the work of handling petitions and visits, deepen the reform of the work system of petitions and visits, use the rule of law and the rule of law to standardize the work on handling petitions and visits, promote the construction of the informationalized system for the work of handling petitions and visits with high standards, and strive to improve the quality and credibility of the work on handling petitions and visits, according to the statement.
Party and government organs at all levels should put people's petitions on their agenda and keep updated accordingly, the statement said.
