Wu Zhenglong, governor of Jiangsu Province, on Friday afternoon met with the leading officials tasked with Jiangsu’s paired assistance programs in northwest China’s Xinjiang, Qinghai and Shaanxi and southwest China’s Tibet and Guizhou to convey sincere greetings and give festive wishes.
The leading officials briefed the provincial leaders on the progress of the paired assistance programs in their respective regions, pledging to resolutely implement the spirit of the Central Government and never let down the provincial party committee and government.
Wu Zhenglong spoke highly of the achievements made by the leading officials and the task forces in the paired assistance programs in the respective regions, adding that they have been praised by the central leadership on many occasions and hailed by the party committees and governments and the people of the ethnic groups of the regions where they worked over the past year.
He said the leading officials for the paired assistance programs have been dedicated to the aspiration of the Chinese dream and demonstrated the good image of Jiangsu.
Wu demanded that the leading officials for the paired assistance programs enhance their political stance, adhere to the decisions and policies of the Central Government, look at the issues and work from a political perspective, and make overall plans for social security and stability, ecological protection, poverty alleviation, social harmony and cohesion of the people based on the characteristics of different places where they were sent to work.
The Governor also requested the government departments where the leading officials for paired assistance programs used to work to provide backup services so that the leading officials will be able to concentrate on their work.
