Provincial leaders Lou Qinjian, Wu Zhenglong and Huang Lixin gathered together Saturday morning with more than 1,000 people from all walks of life to welcome the Spring Festival and convey the best wishes to the people of the province at the annual Spring Festival Reception held at the Nanjing International Exposition Center.
Lou Qinjian, secretary of the CPC Jiangsu Provincial Committee, said at the reception that the past year was an extremely extraordinary year for the party and the country with historic achievements and changes made in various tasks, adding that the success of the 19th CPC National Congress opened a new journey of socialism with Chinese characteristics and sending the strongest voice of the times.
He said the past year was also an enthusiastic and promising year for Jiangsu as the province followed the spirit of the 19th CPC National Congress and adhered to the Xi Jinping Thought on socialism with Chinese characteristics for a new era to practice the concept of new development and seek overall stability through the implementation of the objectives and tasks set forth by the provincial party congress by maintaining a good momentum of development and improving ecological environment which ensured the people's lives are getting better and better.
What made the most of our warmth in the past year was the visit of General Secretary Xi Jinping to Jiangsu Province, making the province greatly touched and encouraged, said Lou, adding that the General Secretary's expectations has set us at the forefront of high-quality development.
Lou pointed out that the New Year is a very important year for Jiangsu's development and the general requirement of the province's work is to follow the guidance of the Xi Jinping Thought on socialism with Chinese characteristics for a new era and fully implement the spirit of the 19th CPC National Congress and the important speech made by the General Secretary during his inspection tour to Jiangsu so as to deepen the construction of new practice in Jiangsu, create new and excellent results in the decisive stage of building a well-off society at an all-round level, launch new exploration of basic modernization and show new outlook in various aspects of Jiangsu's development.
Based on the new journey and the new era, we must push forward the high-quality development, accelerate the transformation of manufacturing from made-in-Jiangsu to created-in-Jiangsu through deepened reform and opening up so as to maintain and develop the vitality of Jiangsu and give full play to its role of being the meeting points of the Belt and Road initiative for a new glorious future, said the CPC Provincial chief.
We must create a beautiful and happy new life, make every effort to solve the real problems that people are most concerned about, and make people's life be more affluent, more convenient, more comfortable, more secure and more dignified, said Lou, adding that it is important for us to build a new Jiangsu by holding cultural confidence, promoting cultural inheritance through cultural creation and cultural logos for the making of a spiritual homeland and a beautiful Jiangsu.
Lou Qinjian said that spring means a new departure and a new journey and struggle is our best answer to this great age, adding that we must boost innovation and creation, prop up our determination to forge ahead, promote a low-key and pragmatic work style, and maintain the momentum of doing our best by rolling up our sleeves to make greater achievements and bear more fruits for the future.
