Deputies to the ongoing annual session of the Provincial People’s Congress joined panel discussions Wednesday afternoon to review the work report of the Standing Committee of the Provincial People's Congress, the work report of the Provincial Higher People's Court and the work report of the Provincial People's Procuratorate.
The deputies from Nanjing, Xuzhou, Changzhou, Lianyungang and Yancheng argued that the work report of the Standing Committee of the Provincial People's Congress, the work report of the Provincial Higher People's Court and the work report of the Provincial People's Procuratorate implemented Xi Jinping's thought on socialism with Chinese characteristics in the new era, the spirit of the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China and the important speech of General Secretary Xi Jinping during his inspection tour to Jiangsu.
They expressed the hope that that the Provincial People's Congress will always follow the important thinking of General Secretary Xi Jinping on adhering to and improving the people's congress system, advocate the high-quality development, and promote the work of the PPC to keep pace with the times and take a new step forward, adding that it is important for the Provincial Higher People's Court and the Provincial People's Procuratorate increase judicial publicity, innovate the judicial system, improve judicial credibility, uphold social fairness and justice, and safeguard the legitimate rights and interests of the people.
The deputies from Suzhou, Nantong, Yangzhou, Zhenjiang, Taizhou and Suqian noted that the work reports of the Standing Committee of the Provincial People's Congress and the Provincial Higher People's Court and the Provincial People's Procuratorate highlighted the central tasks, served the overall situation, paid attention to the issues of the greatest concern to the people, responded to the people's diversified judicial demands and laid out strong measures for promoting high-quality development.
They suggested that the role of the PPC as the main body should be further promoted, and the major issues of the province should be promoted by integrating central and local efforts. The Provincial Higher People's Court and the Provincial People's Procuratorate should strengthen the training of judicial talents, and finding solutions to the difficulty of filing and executing cases at the grassroots level so as to deepen the reform of the judicial system.
