The 12th Jiangsu Provincial Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference wrapped up the agenda of its second session and closed on Wednesday at the Grand Hall of Jiangsu.
When addressing the closing ceremony, Huang Lixin, Chairwoman of the Provincial Committee of the CPPCC, said this year marks the 70th anniversary of the founding of the New China and the People’s Political Consultative Conference. It is also a crucial year for building a comprehensively well-off society at a high-level.
We must act in accordance with Xi Jinping's new era of socialism with Chinese characteristics as the general outline of the work of the CPPCC, uphold the "four consciousnesses", strengthen the "four self-confidences", and safeguard the authority and centralized and unified leadership of the CPC Central Committee with Xi Jinping as the core, follow the spirit of the speech delivered by CPC Provincial Secretary Lou Qinjian at opening ceremony of the annual session of the Provincial CPPCC, focus on the central work of the provincial party committee and the provincial government, fulfill the functions of political consultation, democratic supervision, and participation in the administration of state affairs so as to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the founding of the New China and People's Political Consultative Conference with outstanding achievements.
Huang Lixin demanded that we should implement new ideas and open up new prospects, unswervingly put into practice Xi Jinping's new era of socialism with Chinese characteristics, strengthen the party building of the CPPCC system in the new era, and ensure that all work of the CPPCC is carried out under the leadership of the provincial party committee.
She also demanded that the Provincial CPPCC should perform its duties for the people and help the people to have more sense of acquisition, happiness and security.
