Two more trains will be put into operation on metro line 2 in Nanjing in a bid to ease the congestion during the morning and evening rush hours, the city’s metro company said on Wednesday.
The two trains will help to cut the interval of trains with a view to easing the congestion during the rush hours on working days.
The minimum interval between the train rides was shortened from 2 minutes and 50 seconds to two minutes and 30 seconds during the morning rush hours. That for the evening rush hours was cut from 3 minutes 50 seconds to 3 minutes 36 seconds.
The adjustment of the schedule has enabled the train ride at fixed minimum intervals on metro line 1, 2 and 3, which will help with the interchange at Xinjiekou, Daxinggong and other large stations.
