  Regional governments in Jiangsu province are endeavoring for higher goals in 2019 as the annual sessions of the local people’s congress and the CPPCC are ready to take place in late January.

  The city of Nanjing is expected to post an annual growth of 8% in its GDP in 2018.

  In the new year, the city will strive to bolster its function as the provincial capital city and enhance its primacy ration by tapping into the integrated development of the Yangtze River Delta as a national strategy, building a quadrangle transportation network and improving its service function as the capital city.

  It will also launch six corporate incubation plans, boost the development of an innovative city, launch three to five industrial landmarks with national prominence and global influence, build an independent and controllable modern industrial system and accelerate the development of the Jiangbei New Area so as to enhance its central role in the Yangtze River Delta.

  In 2019, Nanjing is poised to register an annual growth of 7.5% to 8% in its GDP with an annual growth of 12% in the hi-tech investment. The residents’ per capita income is expected to rise by 8%.

  The city of Nantong is expected to register a year-on-year growth of 7.3% in its GDP.

  In the new year, Nantong will bolster its role of being a strategic point in the Yangtze River Economic Belt and the northern wing city of Shanghai by improving industrial development, urban services, and transportation hub capacity.
