  The 10th China Quyi Peony Awards Ceremony was held Monday in Yangzhou. The event is hosted by China Federation of Literary and Art Circles, China Music Association and the Publicity Department of Jiangsu Provincial Party Committee.

  Li Yi, Party Secretary and Vice Chairman of the China Federation of Literary and Art Circles, Li Qianguang, member and vice chairman of the China Federation of Literary and Art Circles, Wang Yanwen, member of the Standing Committee of the Jiangsu Provincial Party Committee and head of the publicity department, and Zhou Jiye, vice chairman of the Provincial Political Consultative Conference, attended the ceremony and watched the performance.

  The Chinese Quyi Peony Award is a national professional award for music and art. Based in Jiangsu, the award is selected every two years since 2006. A total of 20 awards in 4 major categories won this year's Peony Awards.

  At the same time, the 90-year-old single-string performance artist Zhao Yuming and the 85-year-old one-legged performance artist Tong Shuangchun were awarded the honorary title of "China Federation of Literary and Art Life Achievement Artists".

  3 of the 20 award-winning pieces are presented by artists in Jiangsu.

  Quyi is a Chinese folk art form that includes ballad singing, story- telling, comic dialogues, clapper talks, cross talks, etc.
