Wu Zhenglong, governor of Jiangsu, went on an inspection tour Sunday and Monday in Lianyungang city to inspect the progress of the campaign for the emancipation of the mind and require the efforts for the progress of the overall tasks in compliance with Xi Jinping's new era of socialism with Chinese characteristics.
During his visit to Xujing Port Area, Wu Zhenglong learned about port planning and industrial layout, pointing out that it is necessary to put the new development concept into the whole process of port planning, construction, management and operation, and to lay out the port-oriented industrial projects with high level of technology and advanced green safety with stricter standards, with first-class facilities, first-class technology, first-class management and first-class service so that Lianyungang will provide a strong support for the role of the fulcrum of the link between the land-sea transport and east-west opening and make greater contributions to accelerating the construction of the port city’s role as a "Belt and Road" junction.
When visiting Jiangsu Silbang Petrochemical Company, Wu Zhenglong hoped that the enterprise will adhere to the lifeline of safety and environmental protection, aim at the frontiers of the industry, base on independent innovation, strive to master more key core technologies so as to become the benchmark for green and safe development.
The governor later visited a village to learn about the crop harvest and the farmers’ income growth while he was also pleased with the progress of the relocation of the farmers into modernized living quarters.
Wu Zhenglong also presided over a symposium on Monday to be briefed on the social and economic progress in Lianyungang and Guanyun County.
He said that Lianyungang City and Guanyun County are at a critical stage of high-quality development, hoping that the two regions will adhere to the guidance of Xi Jinping's socialism with Chinese characteristics in the new era, promote the emancipation of the mind, and high-quality development, deepen supply-side structural reforms, accelerate industrial transformation and upgrading, implement rural revitalization strategies, and promote coordinated development of urban and rural areas, continue to optimize the business environment and turn General Secretary Xi Jinping instructions for the work of Jiangsu into real development achievements.
