The delicacies market of the Confucius Temple in Nanjing has reopened after a few years of suspension. Local catering enterprises as well as famous snacks from Lanzhou, Qufu and Kunshan cities joined the Golden Autumn Food Exhibition on October 10.

Jiangsu has a long history of local delicacies. The four famous Chinese local delicacies groups were named after Qinhuai River and Confucius Temple in Nanjing City, Temple of the City God in Shanghai, Xuanmiao Temple in Suzhou City, and Huodong Palace in Changsha City, meaning two of them are in Jiangsu Province.

Gong Jianfeng, vice president of Jiangsu Cuisine Association, said that the delicacies should center on local characteristics and cultural charms. The "Yuhua Stone-style Sweet Dumplings" became a popular snack in recent years for innovation. Gong hopes that more similar creative delicacies can emerge in the future.

Qinhuai District plans to promote the standardization of Qinhuai delicacies, build a demonstration zone, promote chain-stores, and set up a talent training and product R&D base through cooperation between enterprises and schools.
