East China’s Jiangsu province had allocated 2.456 billion yuan of provincial-level financial student subsidies for all sections of the school as of September 15, the provincial department of education said Tuesday. A total of 81,000 students in the province were granted a total of 650 million yuan in student loans. 100 universities and colleges in the province have started the new semester with 36,372 freshmen enrolled through the "green channel", accounting for 10.76% of the total number of freshmen. At present, the province’s student aid system has covered all sections of schools to help out the students with financial difficulties.
