The Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee held a meeting Tuesday to discuss the measures on the "Rural Revitalization Strategy Implementation Plan between 2018 and 2022 in Jiangsu Province. Provincial Party Secretary Lou Qinjian presided over the meeting.

It is necessary to actively promote the "synchronization of the four modernizations", promote the integration of urban and rural development, and accelerate the process of rural modernization, focus on the general requirements for rural revitalization proposed by the central government, implement the ten key projects across the province, and put all tasks into practice and see practical results, the statement said.
All localities and departments should refine their respective objectives and tasks, study and put forward practical measures, plan and promote a number of basic, leading and landmark projects, and comprehensively improve the quality and level of rural revitalization, according to the statement.
It is necessary to focus on poverty alleviation and make every effort to promote the key measures for rural revitalization with a view to improving the rural living environment in northern Jiangsu and fundamentally solving the problem of poverty alleviation, the statement said.
It is necessary to implement the rural revitalization strategy, respect the will of the people, and arrange for more farmers in northern Jiangsu to relocate to resettlement quarters according to the law of urbanization so as to ensure that the farmers will truly live a modern urban life in synchronization with the new era.
The meeting stressed that it is necessary to take the responsibility system as an important guarantee and effectively strengthen the organizational leadership of rural revitalization by establishing and improving the working mechanism at the provincial, municipal and county levels, strengthen organizational guarantees, and pay close attention to the implementation of various works to ensure the vigorous and orderly advancement of rural revitalization in the province, the statement said.
China will promote infrastructure construction as one of the measures for rural revitalization, according to the government work report delivered by Premier Li Keqiang at the annual parliamentary session earlier this year.
The country will improve the infrastructure for supplying water, power, and information, and build or upgrade 200,000 kilometers of rural roads.
The government will take steady steps in carrying out a three-year campaign to improve rural living environments, and continue the Toilet Revolution.
Other moves in the rural revitalization strategy include advancing supply-side structural reform in agriculture and deepening rural reforms.
