The period from 202 BC to 220 AD saw a great and strong Han Dynasty in the history of the Chinese nation. What is the economic life of people more than two thousand years ago? What is the splendid beauty of art and culture in the Han Dynasty? Let's take a look at the "Chinese Han Painting Exhibition" being held in Changzhou.

Han paintings include portrait stone, portrait brick, mural painting, enamel painting, lacquer painting, and utensil painting in the Han Dynasty. Portrait stone and portrait brick constitute the largest number of the paintings. The Han Dynasty inherited the traditions and funeral systems of the previous generation. The underground burial chambers, cemeteries, tombs, temples and other buildings and sculptures were all engraved with portraits, showing rich content and diverse artistic techniques.

With its rich and diverse visual image, Chinese paintings represent many historical stories and myths and legends from the Qin Dynasty to the Han Dynasty, reflecting all aspects of social life in the Han Dynasty. There are also historical stories such as the story of a sagacious King and a loyal minister, the story of Lord Wugong, the story of the martyrdom, the Eastern King and West Queen, Fuxi and Nuwa in the fairy world and the three blue-birds, nine-tailed foxes, and jade rabbits associated with them.

More than 150 pieces of Han Dynasty paintings were displayed in this exhibition, which were provided by 23 museums across the country. This is also the first time that the "Chinese Han Painting Exhibition" has debuted in Jiangsu after Beijing and Guizhou. The exhibition will end on September 16.
