199,106 Jiangsu test-takers of the national college entrance exam has been admitted into undergraduate degree programs of 1411 universities and colleges across the country, the provincial department of education said Wednesday.
The enrolment saw an increase of 2930 students in the undergraduate degree programs from a year ago, the first time that more Jiangsu test-takers of the national college entrance exam are admitted into undergraduate degree programs. Jiangsu wrapped up the enrolment of test-takers of the national college entrance exam on Sunday. Since May this year, Lou Qinjian, secretary of the provincial party committee, has concentrated on the outstanding problems in the education work by going on inspection tours to the grassroots communities to conduct research and discussions and finally reached a broad consensus on the reform of the educational sector. With all work measures steadily advanced, the province is now reaching its goal of ensuring that more students in Jiangsu will have access to opportunities for further studies, reform is to be made with enrolment of college entrance examination test-takers, and positive progress is to be made in promoting two-way exchanges in vocational education.
