The Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee held a meeting Monday to discuss hot issues concerning the further promotion of high-quality development of the Yangtze River Economic Belt in Jiangsu Province, the acceleration of the high-quality development of the province's chemical steel, iron and coal power industry transformation and the integrated and three-dimensional transportation corridor planning for the period between 2018 and 2035 for the Yangtze River Economic Belt in Jiangsu Province. Promoting the development of the Yangtze River Economic Belt is a major decision made by the Party Central Committee with Comrade Xi Jinping as the core and a major strategy for the development of the country as a whole, according to a statement released after the meeting.
It is necessary to resolutely implement the spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping's instructions on the in-depth promotion of the Yangtze River Economic Belt, follow the spirit of the Central Government and the reality of Jiangsu, enhance political stance, adhere to the mission, highlight major issues and key links, and ensure that the Yangtze River economy take root in Jiangsu, the statement said.
We must do a good job in restoring the Yangtze River's ecological and environmental protection, and coordinate development of ecological priorities and green development by strengthen planning and long-term control, speeding up the construction of a modern economic system, strengthening regional coordination and cooperation so as to guarantee the implementation of work, and promote the Yangtze River Economic Belt in Jiangsu for high-quality development at the forefront, the statement said.
The chemical industry, steel, and coal and electricity in the region along the Yangtze River are relatively concentrated, making it necessary for the structural reforms on the supply side to be taken as the main line spearheaded by ecological priority and green development, according to the statement.
